Syu Kitsilano: Fresh, Authentic Sushi Experience in Vancouver

Just recently opened but saw that it had great reviews so far. The sushi was amazing, great quality and very fresh. The California roll with green sauce is 10/10. Great service and cozy atmosphere, would definitely go back!

Love this restaurant! The interior is beautifully designed, it makes me feel like I’m in Japan. Every dish was delicious from start to finish, with amazing attention to detail and presentation. The service was excellent as well; the staff were friendly and the chef even came by to say hello, which made the experience feel extra special. Syu Kitsilano has definitely become one of my favourite spots!

Was craving Japanese food and this place popped up during my search. Despite the little reviews decided to give it a shot given that the few reviews that were there were very good and im so glad I did! Coming from someone who is part japanese herself this place exceeded my expectations. The interior was beautiful and the service was also great. All of the sushi was super fresh and it was fun to sit at the counter. Definitely come here before this place blows up! Loved that it was actually run by Japanese people as well

The smoked yellowtail collar was absolutely delicious, and the sashimi was so fresh. I was really satisfied. The prices were reasonable, and I could enjoy my drinks at a relaxed pace. It’s a rare treat in Vancouver to have Asahi beer served in a mug, which made me really happy. All the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming. It’s a great restaurant where you can eat and drink comfortably while having a good time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The restaurant recently opened and has beautiful decor and lovely staff. We tried the California Roll which featured real crab accompanied with a delicious green sauce. We also tried the appetizer trio, the three fish sashimi, a few sushis, and a tuna maki. While dining at the counter we learned that the sushi chef won an award for the California Roll (much deserved!). This is a wonderful addition to the many sushi spots in Vancouver!

It was a pleasure to try Syu two weeks ago during their soft opening. The restaurant has a modern, yet authentic Japanese feel to it. The food was delicious— all the nigiris were fresh, the 48 degrees salmon was really tasty, and the Okinawa donuts dessert was unique!

California Roll Champion truly delivers! Their California roll is something special and a standout on the menu. The service is excellent, making the experience even better. Don’t leave without trying the Okinawa Donut, it’s an absolute must to end your night on a sweet note. And if you love bold flavors, the Sakura Smoked Hamachi Kama is packed with a deep, smoky richness that’s unforgettable.

I’ve visited many sushi restaurants during my trip to Vancouver, but I’ve never had food this excellent. The price is reasonable considering the quality, and the atmosphere is great. It’s very different from the ordinary sushi places with average taste. Fresh ingredients, thoughtful plating, and superb dishe! If I come back, I will definitely visit again.
